The line about password is empty and this is the actual cause of an error. ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root''localhost' (using password: NO) To try and resolve it I stopped mysql from 'System Preferences', then from terminal typed: sudo mysqldsafe skip-grant-tables. I got this kind of error when I set up passwords for "root" user in phpMyAdmin (XAMPP).įor everyone who had the same problem, solution which worked for me was typing the actual password in the "" file (the location of this file is: C://xampp/phpMyAdmin/config.inc ).
